Refund Policy & Terms

1. Assumption of Risk

By entering the premises located at 8550 and 8552 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77024 (the “Premises”), each ticket holder and all members of such ticket holder’s party (collectively, “Entrant”) acknowledge and understand that the Premises are an active equine facility where polo matches and related equestrian activities occur.

Entrant expressly recognizes that equine activities are inherently dangerous and involve substantial risks, including but not limited to serious bodily injury, permanent disability, paralysis, or death. Such risks include, without limitation, being kicked, bitten, or trampled by horses; being struck by polo balls, mallets, or other equipment; collisions with horses, players, vehicles, or other spectators; and other hazards associated with equine and sporting events.

Entrant voluntarily and knowingly assumes all risks, known and unknown, foreseeable and unforeseeable, arising from or related to entry onto the Premises and attendance at any game, exhibition, event, or performance. All Entrants shall maintain a safe distance from stable areas, restricted areas, and all active equine activities at all times.


2. Release and Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, including the Texas Equine Activity Liability Act, Tex. Civ. Prac. & Rem. Code § 87.001 et seq. (the “Act”), Entrant hereby releases, waives, discharges, and covenants not to sue the Houston Polo Club and Bayou Club, together with their respective owners, officers, directors, members, managers, employees, agents, affiliates, sponsors, participants, contractors, and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”), from and against any and all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses of any kind, whether in law or equity, arising out of or related to personal injury, property damage, or death sustained by Entrant while on the Premises.

This release expressly includes any claims arising from the inherent risks of equine activities, as defined by the Act, including the ordinary negligence of the Released Parties.

Entrant further agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses brought by third parties arising out of or related to the conduct or actions of Entrant or any member of Entrant’s party while on the Premises.


3. No Refunds

Ticket Sales and Rainout Policy

All ticket sales are final. No refunds, credits, or exchanges shall be provided for any reason, including but not limited to weather conditions, schedule changes, or event cancellation, except as otherwise required by law.

In the event that a Sunday match is officially declared a rainout or the playing field is deemed unsafe for play, tickets for that event will be credited toward a future match occurring within one (1) year from the original date of purchase. Such credit may be applied only toward a match with availabilty, confirmed by Management and is non-transferable, non-refundable, and not redeemable for cash.


4. Prohibited Items and Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited on the Premises:

  • Outside alcohol, controlled substances, Illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Outside food, drink, coolers or glass containers
  • Professional photography, lenses larger than 4″ or videography equipment 
  • Drones or unmanned aerial systems
  • Unauthorized recording, transmission, reproduction, or distribution of any description, account, image, audio, or video of the event
  • Dogs other than Service dogs trained to perform tasks directly related to the handler’s disabitly

Entrant consents to reasonable inspection of person, bags, containers, and vehicles for prohibited items as a condition of entry.


5. Media Release

By entering the Premises, Entrant grants the Released Parties the irrevocable right and permission to use Entrant’s name, image, likeness, voice, and appearance in any live or recorded broadcast, photograph, video, or other transmission, display, or reproduction of the event for promotional, commercial, archival, or other lawful purposes, without compensation.

No media, including journalists, photographers, videographers, or content creators, are permitted on the premises without the express prior written consent of management. This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, recording, photographing, broadcasting, streaming, or otherwise capturing or transmitting any images, audio, or video of the premises, events, activities, staff, or patrons.

Unauthorized media presence or activity constitutes trespassing and may result in immediate removal from the premises, denial of future access, and potential legal action. Entrants consent that management may enforce this policy to the fullest extent permitted by law.


6. Right to Refuse Admission

Management reserves the sole and absolute discretion to refuse admission to, or eject from the Premises, any individual whose conduct is deemed unsafe, disorderly, unlawful, or in violation of these Terms and Conditions, without refund.


7. Texas Equine Activity Liability Act Notice

Pursuant to the Texas Equine Activity Liability Act, an equine professional or equine activity sponsor is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, as defined by the Act. By entering the Premises and participating in any equine-related activity, Entrant acknowledges that they understand and assume the inherent risks associated with such activities.

Parking

Sunday Polo parking is complimentary allthough limited. Please utilize rideshare when possible. Park according to parking attendants. Ambassadors and signage will direct guests to private event areas, Red Oak Courtyard ticket holders will have a convenient walk from the parking area to gate entrance. Box the Day and Box guests, park then take our HPC golf cart shuttles to the Grandstand side of the field.

Food & Beverage

Indulge in South American–inspired cuisine by Chef David Cordua and a premium selection of beverages from our exclusive on-site concession, The Lymbar. Don’t miss our new Champagne and Caviar Bar on the Red Oak Courtyard Lawn—a luxurious touch to your Sunday polo experience. 

Attire

Stylish, comfortable attire. For gents collared shirts are required, pair with tailored shorts or casual pants. For ladies, sundresses or capri pants paired with flats or wedges for walking on our natural surfaces. Hats are encouraged to complete your look. 

Clothing that is overly revealing, offensive, or inappropriate is not permitted. Thank you for helping us maintain the elegance and tradition of the Houston Polo Club experience.

Security

Your cooperation ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Please follow all guidance from our security personnel and posted signage regarding parking, restricted areas, and field crossings. For the protection of both visitors and horses, touching or petting the horses boarded on Houston Polo Club property, including the polo ponies at the trailers, is strictly prohibited.

Pets

To ensure the safety of our guests and horses, pets are not allowed at Sunday polo. Service animals are permitted. Service animals are defined as animals that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. The work or task the animal has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA and are therefore not allowed at Sunday polo.

Merch

Guests are invited to visit our HPC Tack Shoppe, which features a curated selection of Houston Polo Club–branded apparel, hats, cups, sunglasses, and more. Also available are premium Argentine belts, mallets, balls, and equestrian tack from our Wellington partner, Tackeria. The main HPC Shoppe located near the parking is a must-stop for any polo enthusiast or visit our Shoppe merch from booths on both sides of the field.
