The first chukker kicked off with teams trading goals to keep the score even 2 to 2 going into the second chukker. La Elina began to find their offensive rhythm, with teammates Joao Aranha and Pipe Marquez scoring to increase their lead to 4 to 2. In the third chukker, Eureka had multiple goal shot attempts, but could not get another goal on the board as La Elina scored two more unanswered goals to end the first half 6 to 2.

As the players took their well earned break after the third chukker, spectators walked the field participating in the traditional halftime divot stomp. Patrons sipped complimentary champagne while taking photos in front of the iconic Farish Field US Polo Assn scoreboard, and looking at the new Shoppa’s John Deere tractor and the Bill Fick Ford Lightning on display!

In the fourth chukker, Eureka’s team captain, Jorge Cernadas scored back to back goals to bring his team back in the match, but Pipe Marquez was able to sneak in his fourth goal of the game, to end the chukker leading 7 to 4. In the fabulous fifth chukker, La Elina’s Aranha was the sole scorer to double up Eureka 8 to 4. Not ready to call it quits, Eureka’s Cernadas found the first goal of the sixth chukker through the Douglas Elliman’s goal posts. La Elina’s Marquez responded once more, but Eureka found what they had been looking for all game, scoring three unanswered goals! With the clock ticking down, Eureka ran out of time as La Elina squeaked away with the one goal win of 9 to 8!
